Writing a book is like a journey. I buckle up and start at a certain position to travel towards my final destination. On the way, I meet different people and encounter various situations. Sometimes I take the shortest and straightest route, other times, I meander from my chosen itinerary and explore new territory. At a crossroads, I may decide to go left instead of right. I come to a certain place on my map and if I like it, I stay - if I don't, I move on to another.
When writing, I set off with my initial outline and as my story unfolds, different characters, scenes and plot ideas pop into my head. I twist and turn. It's one big adventure. Read more about my writing journey in an interview on Penny Lockwood Ehrenkranz's blog HERE
